Zenkaikon LootZenkaikon Loot

**WARNING! LOTS OF PHOTOS**

Hey guys! So I just recently came back from Zenkaikon and I figured I'd share with you all the cool stuff I brought back! Sorry if the quality of the photos is a little average, I'm not a master at this. Anyway, I'm sure I spent more than I should have. Of course things will always be overpriced at a convention though. But things are always more tempting when they're right in front of you...

Most of what I got is a bunch of fan art and some buttons but I also got a plushie, a few keychains, some small figures and three big ones.

That SnK one and the one of Jaden Yuki have to be my favorite by far.

I was so excited that I actually found something of Piko! That made my day! Luka was for a friend.

I think I have a thing for buttons. Mikasa was for my sister.

Mikasa was for my sister and Levi for my friend. I still regret never grabbing an Armin while I was there T^T

Now for the baby figures!

Again, Luka was for a friend. I am pretty bummed there was no Len, but I grabbed myself a Rin, even if she's not my favorite it is still pretty cute and I love Daughter of Evil.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/GollyGeeItsBoo1398827473.jpeg
The first Rin is to go along with a Len I already have.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/GollyGeeItsBoo1398827471.jpeg
These two can join my Senbonzakura Len! Too bad there wasn't a Meiko and my friend bought the single Kaito.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/GollyGeeItsBoo1398827477.jpeg
My Senbonzakura army is slowly growing, can't wait for prepainted Senbonzakura Miku in July!

Unboxing and some quick pictures of the larger prepainted figures:

I finally have Rin to go along with Len.

I am pretty excited to have at least one Leafa. Aside from Kirito, Leafa/Suguha is my favorite SAO character. For a prize figure I do not think she is all that bad.

Something I was really excited about. I never thought I'd stumble upon this at a small convention like Zenkaikon.

AND HERE'S THE BEST PART. I come home, all excited to open my new figures for my display and *le gasp* I find a box sitting in my room!
http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/GollyGeeItsBoo1398831558.jpeg

I open it up to find that Eren has made his way to my home while I was gone!

All in all I thought my adventure was pretty successful. Along with the shopping and spending tons of money I had a great time. But I don't think I can live off of honey buns and Subway for four days ever again. I met a lot of cool people, had fun doing some cosplay and posing for pictures too! Do you guys go to conventions and find some good items to bring home with you? What about cosplaying? Do you do it or just enjoy seeing others? What was your favorite con to attend?

**If anyone knows the artists of any of these pictures I'd love for them to let me know so I can link to their beautiful pieces!

Moro (5 anno/i fa) #2140326Holy shit that is a LOT of stuff, even for con loot.
I buy figures at cons infrequently, as the prices tend to be fairly inflated, but I always look, both because it's just fun to look at them in person, and because you CAN find impressive deals sometimes. I got Gift/Solid Theater's Saber Alter for $40 at Anime Expo, for instance.
I tend to hunt heavily for doujinshi at cons, as well as trading figures, because those are less expensive and I'm more likely to find what I'm looking for (it's hard to justify paying $5 shipping on a figure which is itself $8, for instance, if I find a trading figure online.)
I... like to cosplay, but I also don't. I'm not confident enough in my appearance to do it heavily; why bother when there's essentially guaranteed to be someone there cosplaying the same character but much better than me?

It's a small con too ^^; I'm curious to see what I'll get in August at Otakon because it is much larger. The prices at cons seem to be quite ridiculous, but you can bargain with the people for the most part, especially if you wait until the last day before closing. Holy crap, $40, did you really? That's a steal! I don't think I've found something that good before.

Doujinshi is my main thing as well, however, I was pretty unlucky this time around. There was nothing. Nothing at all. Trading figures seem to be fairly priced for the most part, except for the few I found that were outrageous. I mean like $30 for something that is originally $7. I think it just seemed like the main figure booth was overpricing things like crazy and since the con was small there weren't many others.

Ah no you shouldn't let something like that prevent you from cosplaying! Who cares if you think someone else will do the same and much better? When I went there were about 5 other Junko's aside from myself, but I still had a lot of fun!

gamergibbons (5 anno/i fa) #2120284Nice loot! That prize figure looks really good! There's this stereotype here for prize figures that pretty much implies that all prize figures are of poor quality. Fortunately, I've brought a few Persona 4 Prize figures and they are actually really nice!
As for my favorite convention, I've only been to two here in Florida, but so far Metrocon was my favorite. The event is really well structured to accommodate a ton of guests and the venders room had a lot of actual anime items (unlike some which just have "nerd" stuff or dudebro meme shirts) to choose from. Plus, my favorite local anime shop goes there and they usually offer discounts to regulars (like me : 3)

Doesn't she?! I was really surprised because I have never bought a prize figure before (none that I have received yet anyway). And after reading so much on here a lot of people are like "oh, prize figure meh". I mean of course it is not perfect, a few minor hiccups here and there but I still think she looks great.

I've also only been to two, this being my second and the first being Otakon. They are two very different experiences though considering one is relatively large and this one is smaller. I like the smaller amount of people because it is more comfortable. You can meet people and then find them again later and have a little bit of a friendship. Otakon, as the larger one, was much better for shopping and looking at cosplays but it is too many people. Both can seem a little unorganized at times though. I'll have to look into Metrocon! Not that I'd be going because I'm too far but I'd like to just maybe broaden my knowledge of cons a bit. Lucky you, we don't really have a "local" anime shop. But it's cool that they'd recognize you to give you deals!

Seeing this makes me want to go to a convention soon /____\

You should definitely try to go to one if you can! It can get a little expensive but it's worth it because it is a good time.

Shinigamiyoko (5 anno/i fa) #2119568I noticed the Zvezda Plot buttons in there; they're so cute!! All those prints are gorgeous too, I always end up buying a bunch of prints too at cons, even though I have no wall space, lol.
Exactly how I'm feeling. I have absolutely no wall space but I bought some pictures anyway and I continue to order posters in splits ^^;
I feel like I'm going to start putting stuff on my ceiling X3

Beani (5 anno/i fa) #2119502The dead give away is the material actually since the original was a flat rubber strap haha.
Cute is one word for them :p

Ah so they also completely turn one item into something else? I did not know that.
Ahem. Cute is the PG13 term.
