Hello tsuki board! I'm back. Remember me? Nay? Yay? Well, I missed all of you so much. After some exhausting weeks of moving that feels like it's gone on for far longer, I finally gotten back to my new home. It was so nice to have everything I love back; my cat, a large comfy bed, and most importantly.. the internet. Oh god, how I missed the internet. Waiting outside in a suspect looking van with a laptop on a 20 minute battery to check my e-mail is most uncomfortable.
this band saved my life. As I'm writing it is the late hour of 5 o' clock in the afternoon, which in northern state time means it's nearing pitch black state outside. My music player shuffles to 'The Only Hope For Me Is You', bringing back happy memories of a concert I've recently been to. At my right is a very fluffy fat creature looking out the window, and to my left is the ex cute "daughter" I've grown to love so much.
Even though the promise of life's wonderful things awaiting me, what I was most excited about was something entirely different. I had packages waiting for me. Oh yes, packages. Not just one, no. Two, no.. but three! I could not wait to wake up this day and open my wonderful boxes of goodies. Most not mine, but still, excited none the less. First of order, AmiAmi!
Well, blah blah, text, text, that's enough of that. Let's get to it!

It's been a while since I've received a package, and I'll be honest. I had a hard laugh at this box when I saw it. It's so small, so ridiculously small. That size might look normal, but compared to my old AmiAmi packages, this is but a pixel on a screen. The reason I was so happy to get this one was not actually because it contained things I wanted, but it contains things I needed. No, really, I'm not kidding. I needed these things very badly. In my life.
so much pink!Firstly, I took out the Kaname Madoka Beach Queen figure by Wave, from one of my favorite series 'Puella Magi Madoka Magica'. She was actually a pre-order I wanted to cancel but didn't cancel, because if I did I think AmiAmi may blow their top (rightfully so). Saying that, she is surprisingly adorable in person. The changes they've made to her face and head shape were very good choices. Tempted to open her, but I just can't afford to keep her at the moment. I have too many games to buy debts to pay off.
Being a fairly recent fan of Tiger & Bunny, I fell in love with the Crystal Dome straps by Masameya. It was a very hard choice as I could only afford one and wanted them all, but in the end I went with Blue Rose. One of my favorite characters and easily the most beautiful of the set.
I didn't actually want to use this as a phone strap. I bought it for the sole purpose of turning it into a necklace, not that it is much of a DIY adventure in itself but even so, I thought it would be perfect for one. I was right. It's just as lovely in person. If I ever met someone that actually recognized the series from this very minimalistic approach to a representation of a character, I would be impressed.
Now, for the really important things. I had two items that needed replacing and a practically empty November order, so I thought I'd throw them in. Those were: a mousepad and a card case.
Although I used to use an oppai mousepad for support, my new desk is rather well suited for a flat one. Also, I didn't really feel like paying $40 for a mousepad or get a crappy one either. Just my luck, a really cute one I had my eye on before was in the clearance section for a mere 210JPY. Not surprisingly, this product again features Kaname Madoka of the series mentioned prior.
a sad but beautiful artwork
The image in particular is why I wanted it, it has such a lovely color balance and represents the character very well in a single picture. The back has a plastic sheet for removal, leaving a patterned backing to help keep the mousepad in place on your preferred surface. I have a desk with a gloss coating, so it doesn't work in quite the way it's intended, however it does stay in place well and I have no problems with it moving around while I use my mouse on it. The top of the mousepad has a similar pattern, which I can only presume is because of it's compatibility with laser mice.
The only worry I had concerning this item, was the size. It's listed as a "large size" mousepad. I have my mouse set at a very high speed and don't require more than a few inches for using it, so I didn't want it to take up much room. Of course, actually looking at the measurements was far too much work so I decided to wait it out. The size is very good, perfect for a user like me. So, if you're looking for a good, cheap mousepad that enhances the look of your desk without taking up much space, I really recommend the "large size" ones by Broccoli.
"don't keep me waiting" Lastly, I had to replace my old card case. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of it, but I loved it so much, for many years. I don't carry cash on me, I'm a slave to my bank because of convenience, and money is dirty and takes up space in my pocket. I had a very hard time choosing which character to get a case of, there are some nice ones out there. It was between Akiyama Mio, Kyuubey, and Victorique de Blois. Kyuubey seems like the logical choice for a fan like me, but I just adore Victorique so much. In addition, as a fan, there really is nothing available of her. Besides, Victorique gives a nice demanding atittude. Perfect for something that houses cards with money to buy sweets and the like.
The case itself was a pleasant surprise. I thought it would just be a standard card holder, but there are actually two sections to store your cards in, which is wonderful for someone that carries both banking ones and their ID in the same case. For yet another surprise, in the bottom section of the card holder was a set of GOSICK stationary sheets. What a nice addition! I'm very happy with it, the image is well printed and the case is light, but not flimsy.
if only this could be realityWell, that was a whole lot of writing about a whole lot of nothing. Oh wait, right, there's more! I lied, that wasn't the last item. Actually, I couldn't wait as I was too excited to open something I've been waiting months for. As part of the shipment from my recent(ish) proxy order made for my club, I also ordered some posters for myself. One was through Toranoana, a doujin poster, and the other a rare promotional poster that I bought on auction at Yahoo Japan. I'm saving the doujin one for a rainy day.
yup, madoka army is holding down the poster!
Wow, is this poster a beauty, and huge too. Featuring Kaname Madoka & Akemi Homura, this is the cover for the Claris OP single in all of it's artistic glory. Homura looks absolutely thrilled to be singing karaoke with Madoka under a slightly disturbing but funny Kyuubey themed Disco Ball. I am always a bit nervous about bidding on things on Yahoo Japan. The descriptions are often short and the pictures are abysmal, so it's a bit of a gamble of what you will actually get. I already wasted away money before on bad auctions, so I wasn't expecting this to be perfect, but it is. Not a single crinkle or tear, it's just beautiful. I can not wait to frame it, and place it above my bed, so I can dream of my alternate Puella Magi universe where the girls just spend most of their time singing in strangely decorated Karaoke rooms.
And with that, is the end. Really, that's all. Look forward to my extremely long blog post about the Proxy order in it's entirety. Also in the blogging works are some tutorials! Both for tsuki board managing and collection tips.
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed. It's nice to be back, tsuki board is my one and only e-home, and I love it so much. See you soon!
