AmiAmi SAL package lost

I had ordered ITEM #198411 and chose SAL shipping. Boy do I regret it. I have never experienced a good thing with SAL since starting this hobby. I figured I would spend a little less on shipping as it is a nendo. Now the package has gone missing, thanks to USPS

I checked tracking, and it said no authorized recipient available, notice left. Well there was no notice (never has been). I was clearly at the office when delivery was attempted but I never saw the carrier. Okay so this already has happened with the past 7-8 packages so I scheduled a re-delivery. I check tracking again this morning and it states delivered! I asked the restaurant who is a client of ours to see if they received it and they haven't.

Never ever use SAL, if its not delivery problems, delays it gets lost.

I'm seething with anger and am worried about the xmas gifts to my cousins that is also in the process of being shipped here.

First time this happened, now I wonder if AmiAmi will be willing to help besides refund a % of the product in points. Well if that happens I'd have to contact paypal and if it comes to it call my credit card to have the charges removed.

mikeymikemichael (3 anno/i fa) #2531645I try not to order anything during the holiday's, but then that one you have to have View spoilerHide spoilermine is Amatsukaze ITEM #216505 that always get released at the holidays. And then add all the figures that get delayed until now, and next thing you know your stuff is getting battered and lost in all the holiday mail. I tend to be a little more forgiving since I've known my postman for several years now, and the USPS has closed a lot of stations and have less people to do more work load.
But I do feel your pain, I lost a SAL package two Christmas's in a row so that's when I started to back off collecting during the holidays and use EMS on a regular basis. It has been well worth the extra price to get it sooner so less chance to get damaged bouncing all over the planet!!, and less stress waiting and worrying until it arrives.
I normally wouldn't order things except for xmas presents, but this was a pre-order I had a while ago.mariijane (3 anno/i fa) #2532432ugh i'm sorry you have to deal with this... i've had more than my share of lost packages (even EMS). i do recommend contacting amiami: if SAL has insurance, then keep in mind, it's insurance for the -shipper,- thus they would need to file a claim on their end as well.
sadly this is why i only select EMS/DHL, etc T.T (even though it's heavy on the wallet.. i end up buying less just because of this!)
I've contacted AmiAmi, they asked me to inquire the PO first which I've done and responded to amiami

victorviper (3 anno/i fa) #2530196Once or twice, I've had the tracking update to "delivered" but the item didn't show up that same day; rather, it actually got delivered the next day. I suspect in those cases, the carrier scanned all their deliveries at once to save time, but then left the package on the truck. Another time, the tracking updated to "delivered", but I found an orange notice on my front door and I had to retrieve the item at the post office.
So, all is not lost (yet). I'd check the local PO with fingers crossed.
I hope that is the case

dalli (3 anno/i fa) #2530001But even registered SAL has insurance, right? Isn't this a case to act on it, since the package wasn't delivered and is lost?Yes it is, I filed a claim and gonna head to the PO to make a complaint directly as well. Tracking does say delivered but not to me apparently.

arianehk (3 anno/i fa) #2530007i used SAL to save a few $$$ but since 06/12/14 the status is still "Dispatch from outward office of exchange".
i guess it's due to the christmas season and the item will be here in a few days / weeks, but for peace of mind i'm using EMS for any delivery from now on

yaiba (3 anno/i fa) #2529949I have never had an issue with SAL, and I have been getting close to 2 packages a month for the last year. There was only one mis-delivery, but that could have happened regardless.
If you have consistent delivery problems, I would say it was more an issue with your mail carrier than the method that the package was sent by.
Getting the run around by the post office does seem to be pretty consistent though. Haven't had it happen to me, but witnessed it at the post office, where they kept on repeating that the confirmation said it was delivered despite the customer saying they didn't receive it, and that the notice did not even list an apt. number to deliver the package to!
I don't know how the PO does things but even when the delivery guy changed it always ends up the same way after I guess what you would call a grace period of things working. Throughout this first year of collecting I've went through 4 different delivery guys and ends in the same result. I've used SAL maybe about 7 times and out of those 7 only two arrived without issue. Since then until now I'ved used EMS on everything.
