Commenti Plum 1/7 Sakura Kinomoto

  • Maakie5 anno/i fa#3057480Oh yeah of course, especially with the dress having to keep the sturdiness there are not that much options. It's just that I didn't expect it to be this...extreme. :P
And yeah, exactly that. 8K yen is what I in general pay for Kotobukiya figures and I'm a lot more forgiving with them. xD

Also, that ugly seam is the back of her dress, so it's not too obvious at a glance.

victorviper5 anno/i fa#3053511Of course, in fairness I don't see how to make the "dress morphing into the base" concept work without making her dress in two pieces. The price still kind of bugs me, though. If she was 8000 yen instead of 12000 yen, it would be a lot easier to overlook some of the flaws, that's for sure!

Maakie5 anno/i fa#3053029Her eyes look incredibly beauitiful! :O But I could see already multiple small errors from the shots without zoomed in parts... :/ And then the huge seam where the dress and base come together, yegh! Not a bad figure overall, but quite disappointing considering her price to be honest.

Back when this figure and the Koto figure were up for pre-order, I wanted both but was tight on money. I ended up choosing the Koto Sakura instead. I forgot the reason why I got the Koto figure instead, lol, but I have no regrets. In your honest opinion, which Sakura figure do you like better overall?

Between this figure and the recent Koto Sakura, I'd still pick the Plum figure simply because the design is interesting. Plus, something about the Koto Sakura isn't quite right IMO. Something with her face is a little bit off...

Yoruno5 anno/i fa#3043396Thank you for the review. It's the first time I noticed that her base was made of several pieces and they had a visible gap... Now I feel relieved I refused to buy her.
It's strange how all manufacturers use only one colour for her hair, no shades at all. Koto tried to improve this ITEM #236143, but their figure has some other flaws.

Well, with the base I didn't try too hard to make the pieces fit super-tight, as it is a little tricky to ge the base assembled, and I'd read some comments about the pegs in the cloud part wanting to snap off.

ciro5 anno/i fa#3043538I was waiting for a review on this figure, thanks for this! I like the execution of the clouds here better than on the one by Koto. The shiny gold finish on her outfit is so pretty!

The cloud base is one of the more interesting features of this figure.

    jkb5 anno/i fa#3043847Nice review !
A quite nice figure, very close to original illustration, like it.

Despite all its flaws, the saving grace of this figure is how well the illustration was recreated in figure form. There are so many illustrations of Sakura and friends that need to be made into figures...

Ose_935 anno/i fa#3041249Great review, I am still waiting on mine and I can't wait until she gets here. The painting job is a bit of a bummer and I hope my crown isn't chipped, but these are small details that I can look past.
The overall design is what sold me to get her (despite ordering the Kotobukiya version as well) and the fact that she can be displayed with just the clouds is nifty!

The design of the figure is definitely the best selling point of the figure. When I was looking through my CCS artbooks to find the illustration which inspired this figure, I found so many other illustrations that should be figures!

    Akira5 anno/i fa#3041358Nice review!
I personally don't like the faces of those Furyu prizes ^^; But I do recognize they are pretty nice.
Oh, and, actually this figure is based on a GK. It makes it more disappointing to me when I look at the painting problems she has :( Is almost as If they were lazy with this one. But I don't know If poor painting is a common issue with Plum or not (or maybe more like a trademark. A very bad trademark).
I feel responsable about the DIY blush since I posted the link to the blog entry that explained how to do it lol, so I want to help clarify a little: If you use standar pastel chalk (not the oily ones), and you happen to mess up or whatever, you can actually remove it with some water. Is not a permanent thing, but If you don' feel safe by doing it is fine too.

Using the chalk-blush solution, I'd still be terrified of staining the figure.

As far as PLUM figures go, somehow this was the first one I'd ever bought (although there are a few on my wish list) and some of the paint issues with this figure (and your comments) make me wonder if that's a common problem with their products...
