Any other good anime shopping sites aside from HLJ and CDJapan?Any other good anime shopping sites aside from HLJ and CDJapan?

Hi there MFC!

Apparently yesterday my amiami account got terminated bcos I have been cancelling too many orders (and partially my own fault bcos i forgot to inform them to cancel my recent order on jack frost nendo).

So my only choice here is either buy at HLJ and CDJapan for now but I'm trying to look for other shops that has bigger choices.

Goods Republic is good imo; although they have free shipping, I find the price of their goods too overpriced (e.g: Rin's kitty apron is like US$65 there wth).

Otaku Mode doesn't have a lot of choices and their only shipping method is EMS (I'm just a stingy college student orz)

I don't mind dismissing most of my previous orders from amiami, but all i just want to order rn is:

- Futaba Nendo
- Fate HF es series straps
- Shirou Pitanui plush
- Emiya Gohan Rin Apron
- Ereshkigal Nendo
- Fate HF mochimochi/beans

as for the other merch, imma just suck it up and go get it via box splits or buy at the local stores huhu.

Lemme know in the comments which other anime shops that you can recc!

Hobby Search basically has everything Amiami has, I havent had any issues with them. They don't have as many shipping options though.

HLJ you only allow to cancel orders before they on release date to payment.
cdJapan is upfront for full order + shipping payment. shipping may be cost high.

Big Bad Toy Store and Amazon Japan are good stores that offer cancellation of orders up until a certain date.

Gabriel (10 giorno/i fa) #45125415The impression I got from the article (and the OP should definitely correct me if wrong), is the cancellation came about because of a non-payment for an item the OP forgot to ask for a cancellation on. I can definitely see AmiAmi handing a ban for a non-pay especially if there was a recent cancellation to boot.
I've cancelled a few items during my years of AmiAmi use. They haven't banned me yet. In each case I've tried to provide as much notice as possible. And I've never cancelled any item over about $125 USD. However, when I cancelled a couple of items last year during a period of employment uncertainty, they obviously marked my account in some way and forced me to pay up front with Paypal for a few orders before allowing me to return to using my credit card.

Well I'm hoping that if I explain my situation they won't boot me... I've made 2 completed purchases and 2 cancellations so far this year, just wish I knew what exactly is their criteria for a termination.

spinners_grove (10 giorno/i fa) #45125913Honestly, some people on here seem to have had issues with Solaris Japan, but I've had really good experiences with them.
Akiza (10 giorno/i fa) #45129316Mandarake is my go to place.

I've ordered a few things from Solaris Japan. They're higher priced than everywhere else, though. Historically, I've only ordered from them when I can't find the item anywhere else. But I've never had any problems at all when ordering from them. I've never pre-ordered from them.

As for Mandarake, I've only ordered from the Sahra branch. I have absolutely no complaints so far. I have no hesitation whatsoever ordering from them.

I've only ordered two things from CDJapan. They require full payment up front even on pre-orders. Plus, I felt they were a bit iffy on shipping.

I've ordered one thing from Loopaza. It was a hail mary type of order. The item was shipped promptly and everything was in excellent condition. But I'm not sure if I would order from them on a regular basis.

So far I've had some positive experiences with Ninoma. Their prices are sort of all over the map, some low, some high. IMX, they ship out orders somewhat slow. But I haven't had any truly egregious problems with them.

Honestly, some people on here seem to have had issues with Solaris Japan, but I've had really good experiences with them. I think it's because sometimes they struggle with shipping really large orders, and I usually keep it on the smaller side. I'd avoid big hauls, but if it's just one or two moderately sized scales or some nendos, you should be fine. (I also like them because they seem to have a better selection than other shops, and each item listing tells you if you can buy it used or not. I've bought a couple of used pieces and no problems so far!)

jonylin (11 giorno/i fa) #45116359Oh wow, that's not even that much... Only like 1 a year. I'm really surprised they terminated your account if that was it.
