    Cloudberry6 mese/i fa#74995865Huh, TIL that the instrument is called a pipa @.@
She's a beautiful figure! I always known about this figure (I just know that it's an 18+ figure) but I never looked to deep into it till now (I didn't know about the toys or her opening in the back of her dress).
The base looks great and the toys look very fancy. I think her side ponytail (I've noticed that its starting to be more common now) that ends in a curl is very cute. Plus, her blonde hair has a nice shine to it that matches her red China dress.
My favorite is the the adult theme of it~ The ahegao face combined with that weak-knee pose is sexy!
Thanks for the photos and review!!
Well, I never heard of that before either, I just started googling "Chinese guitar" and skimmed through some articles.
She is quite beautiful, I don't own her anymore though because I never found figures I'd wanted to combine her with. Anyway, just because a figure does offer certain options doesn't mean you have to use them (most of the time with 18+ figures I ended up using the most "harmless" option as well).
The base's design is great and intricate, but I hated how big it is (not leaving room for other figures in a display box).
I actually didn't like the ahegao face at all, though combined with the gloved hand it definitely has a ceratin allure.

Fallency1 anno/i fa#49820096Thank you for the deep and exhaustive review.
(I just noticed I missed this one lol thanks to the pictures you uploaded for Gwendolyn from Flare I checked your blog so I can read this review lol, nonetheless I'm looking forward to Gwen's review !)
Always so enjoyable to read and look at every pieces of pictures you gave to us, It's like I'm reviewing her haha and more importantly I can expect what I will get without any surprise, the amount pictures is perfect thank you.
For the Jin-Lian, from the promo pictures I've been seduced by her day one, I even get the black version too, my love for her is tremendous lol, like you I don't use to like Tony Taka work, but this one hooked me at first glance, her pose, her face, especially this shining yellowish hair my god so well done, the effect and shading is perfect. It might sound awkward but the red high heels she is wearing made the deal for me, it's so cute with the little tie I can't say no to not buying her haha.
Now the drawbacks, as you stated, the yellow gap on her hair is unfortunate, I was hoping seeing it solely from higher places but in fact it's also visible from sideways, then the yellow line, I was also hoping they would make a better work on that, but I think it's pretty hard to draw a perfect line but yeah I agree it should have done better...
Overall incredible figure if we don't count the drawbacks. I even ordered some other girls from its Premium Skytube line, hopefully the next ones will be flawless.
    Thank you so much! :3
(Glad you still found something to read, Gwen's review is up as well now. ;3 Whenever I upload review pictures it's mostly because I'm already done with the text, I just don't always post them right away.^^")
Reading this really means a lot to me, because that's exactly what I strive to do with my reviews. I want them to be as helpful as possible. :3
It was similar for me, though I just didn't have the money when she went up for preorder, Jin-Lian is really special among the Tony figures (usually the faces are too similar and look a bit "dead" to me). The hair is exceptionally well done, the combination of that pearlescent shine and on-point shading is fantastic, plus it creates quite a beautiful contrast with both the red and the black dress imo. The shoes are great as well, especially combined with all the other little ribbons you can find on her. As for the flaws, ofc I aspire to be critical in my reviews but I'm much more willing to forgive an uneven line or two than serious sculpting errors (excess bits of plastic and the like) and while there are quite a few nitpicks with this figure, it's overall not that bad. I might sound like a broken record saying this but figures are mass-produced and the chance that we'll ever get perfect ones is really slim, so it's more about the amount and gravity you're willing to cope with at a given price point imo.
I ordered 2 other regular Skytube figures too and have some more I'm watching, but 1/6 isn't really my favorite scale now that space is starting to become a serious issue.

broken-Toybox1 anno/i fa#47408985Well, certainly great to hear that about a manufacturer that offers a lot of figures with exchangeable parts which are a major source of paint transfers already. -_- I don’t have much experience with 1/6 figures in general and much less with Skytube/Alphamax figures but the way you describe it it certainly sounds like they need to cut costs, making the quality suffer for it. But that’s something I’ve noticed other companies doing as well, like forgetting the smooth skin finish in certain parts or making the paint prone to get damaged once you need to remove paint transfers (certainly had to ITEM #287683, ITEM #116883 damage the top coat to get paint transfers and dirt off them and in Aoba’s case that still wasn’t enough (I got him like that already though)). I’m not entirely sure that’s just a conspiracy theory you know, but I wouldn’t necessarily attribute it only to cost-cutting either. Maybe companies are just over-capacity, pumping out more products than they should.

Well given SkyTube/Alphamax rarely delay figures and have increased volume of releases you might be right. I've never been disappointed with them but perhaps they've hit a ceiling of quality for the past couple years? Perhaps/hopefully in future you might get your hands on an older one of their figures and can compare/contrast. Their detailing on Erika was pretty good baring the white paint/hair seem and they even glossed her finger nails so they still can impress > it seems it's the clothing/hair that suffers more than the face/body with SkyTube/Alphamax.

HappyBottyBunny1 anno/i fa#47394478True it's not just SkyTube/Alphamax with paint transfer issues but they seem to use a very thin matte finish that easily scuffs, some of there older figures, namely: ITEM #164568 , flat out don't have this issue at all (and Nozomi's quality doesn't seem to suffer for it). Fortunately it is the sort of thing that's hard to notice >1 foot away and when we're talking sub-par SkyTube/Alphamax figures they tend to still be above par otherwise. Actually going a little more in the 1/8 direction, from mostly 1/6's, myself and it seems that 1/8's actually have slightly better detailing as a whole however only have/had 4 1/8's so can't judge properly. Lately seems some modern figures have been skimping on paint jobs so perhaps some cost-cutting is going on (really obvious downgrade between my Kodakawa figures and SkyTube/Alphamax less so but evident). Or I'm just a crazy conspiracy theorist.Well, certainly great to hear that about a manufacturer that offers a lot of figures with exchangeable parts which are a major source of paint transfers already. -_- I don’t have much experience with 1/6 figures in general and much less with Skytube/Alphamax figures but the way you describe it it certainly sounds like they need to cut costs, making the quality suffer for it. arparso1 anno/i fa#47353705Oh yeah, absolutely! I was just surprised myself that I did not really notice these issues when I unpacked her a few weeks ago.
Sure enough. I just found it odd about this figure. There are plenty of ecchi/lewd figures in my collection and I don't think I own any other hentai figure which "hides" its hentai nature the same way as this one does. If it weren't for her exposed boobs and maybe the alternative face plate, you wouldn't have any idea about it when standing in front of her. Can't even see whether she's got her panties on or not from that angle.
Of course, that makes her a great choice for anyone not usually into these sorts of figures or who can't properly display them exposed due to parents' rules or kids in the household/visiting. Most Skytube figures can be covered up, but many may still look a little suggestive even in their least-lewd display configuration due to their pose or clothing choices. Jin-Lian feels almost completely innocuous - even with her panties removed, because you can't see that from the front or the sides.
PS: I forgot one other "complaint" about this figure: When using her alternative bottom part with the toys inserted, you lose the cute ribbons on her hips. Of course, they kinda belong to her panties and she's not wearing any in this configuration, but with her default part you can still remove the panties and keep the ribbons. I would have preferred a way to combine the two features, ribbons and toys, but sadly one has to choose one over the other.
Well, I guess that’s one thing that drew me to her in the first place though. I’ve got nothing against more lewd figures, but I don’t feel as comfortable displaying them. Funnily enough however my taste has gotten a little more “extreme” recently. She’s not my first 18+ figure, but the others look more “innocent” in comparison (and no I’ve got no parents or children nagging me x3).
That’s certainly true for Jin-Lian, though if you’re really prudish you might even think of the visible bra as offensive. X3
Oh yeah that’s a good point as well, they could’ve made the ribbons part of the dress as well. The more I think about it the more I wish that was the case. X3

    broken-Toybox1 anno/i fa#47352504Thanks! :3
Yeah, I was a bit surprised as well, not that I expected a perfect figure, just a little less in the way of flaws. For better or worse (and this is spoiling my friend’s review a little) the paint flaws apply to the normal version as well. I’m sorry to hear that Erika has similar flaws, premium or not I’d expect figures of a bigger size (I usually collect 1/8 and 1/7 figures) to have less of these slip-ups as they’re probably easier to paint.
Concerning the skin-finish, I wouldn’t really just blame Skytube/Alphamax, I had to remove paint transfers from other figures (as in made by other manufacturers) before too and the finish almost always suffered. Now I’m not what you’d call dexterous either, but I doubt I’m the only one having those troubles.

I’m not sure what to say, I’m kinda sorry I made you aware of them, but seeing how you didn’t notice before just shows that they’re not that bad once you’re at a normal distance. Yet for the sake of reviewing close-ups are also necessary (at least for me).^^”

Oh yeah, absolutely! I was just surprised myself that I did not really notice these issues when I unpacked her a few weeks ago.

broken-Toybox1 anno/i fa#47352907Yeah, displaying her sideways you don’t see much of her face (which is a major point of appeal for me), so you probably need a display with a mirror at the back to see the action. I won’t be using this option much anyway, but it’s a bummer for those who want to. The figure you linked is way easier in that regard, because she has a sidewards pose from the get-go.^^

arparso1 anno/i fa#47348419That's a very nice and thorough review - nice job! I own the original color variant with the black and gold dress and was very surprised to see these paint issues on your figure. Just checked with my own figure and also noticed some imperfections with these gold lines and the gap between the hair parts. It looks a little better than on your photos, but they're still there... and I totally did not notice until now. -.-
I still love the figure - from a regular viewing distance these flaws aren't really visible. Even considered getting this red color variant as well after seeing it still available for a reasonable price, but I think I'll pass. I vastly prefer the black and gold version - those colors just go so well together and the translucent parts of the dress turn a very nice shade of purple. I also like the black gloves way more than the white ones in this version.
It is weird. Red is usually my favorite color, but I don't really like it here on that dress.
My personal (small) issues with this figure would be:
    1) When using the alternate left arm touching the toys, there is no use for the nice instrument. They could have inlucded a small stand or something for it to lean against. Of course, you can still use the toys and the regular arm holding the instrument, but that reduces a bit of her lewd-ness, I think.
    2) Her alternate bottom with the two gaping holes looks a little... weird. Two of these huge, stretched holes so close together at that angle looks just anatomically "challenging".
    3) It's actually difficult to display her lewd features at the back. The figure looks best when viewed from the front, where you can see the face, the amazing dress, her boobs and the nice instrument, but from that angle you completely miss the action at the back. Putting her sideways or showing just her backside just looks a little too odd. This worked so much better with Matsuri ITEM #457123
I guess I could still get a second copy of her and put them next to each other with one facing backwards (maybe that's the real reason for this color variant to exist xD ). Or I'll have to put a mirror behind her. Otherwise, what's the point of having the toys when noone can see them? :D
    Thank you! :3
I’m not sure what to say, I’m kinda sorry I made you aware of them, but seeing how you didn’t notice before just shows that they’re not that bad once you’re at a normal distance. Yet for the sake of reviewing close-ups are also necessary (at least for me).^^”
I love her as well, but I just prefer the red version for some reason (even though the color combination looks ad bit iffy with the gloves and garter). :3 Maybe because it seems like a more aggressive color-scheme, while the black version is looks more sensual.
The black gloves fit better but going by the pictures I’m not too fond of their finish, it looks kind of glossy in a weird way instead of pearlescent.
A stand for the instrument would have been great, as it looks really fantastic. Another peg or something would’ve been fine as well, not just to display it while attaching the lewd parts, but also because it topples over so easily.
They might look weird, but I’m sure it’s not anatomically incorrect even if it looks “challenging”. X3

I think the mirror is cheaper than purchasing another copy, but that’s ultimately up to you (can’t say I never thought about purchasing the original color version either since I got this one). For some people it might be enough just to know of the toys being there? I don’t know, collection and displaying figures differs from collector to collector.^^”
