Autographs of 2018 - Signed Merchandise (Tons of Images)Autographs of 2018 - Signed Merchandise (Tons of Images)Diary

Yes I know January is pretty much over but this is the last thing I have for 2018.

Last year I went to the most conventions that I have ever gone in one year. Most of them are in United States but I also went to one in Japan (from previous articles I posted). Among them I met a couple of Japanese voice actors/actresses or (song) artists. Most of the items in this article are either items I got signed or received presigned. Sorry for the potato image quality.

March 2018 - Misaki Kurehito Tokyo Exhibit

It would have been amazing to meet Misaki but I went on the first day while he came on the last day to do autographs :(.

However I was able to snag a postcard already signed for entering the exhibit at the Gee store in Akihabara.

May 2018 - Anime North (Toronto)

Upon visiting family in May, I also went to Anime North. I used to go in highschool but stopped going because it was a fan event and there is no industry panels or events there. However someone came that swayed me to go.

Kiyono Yasuno came to Toronto that day to do a panel and autographs. Her panel was really fun as she did impressions of some of her popular characters (like Megumi) and Q&A of her life and even Walküre.

I had some friends to help me line up for autographs so here we go!

From the Misaki event from March, I got this signed for my friend.

Also from the Misaki exhibit I got this B1 tapestry signed as well (she drew over Utaha :O)

I got the girls in their Lawson uniforms signed too.

Finally I got the couch figure signed.

These figures for reference (underwear nsfw)

It was pretty funny when I showed this to her and her manager, they didn't know what this couch was. I pulled up the image from MFC here and they were laughing. I remember on Twitter she mentioned that it was funny that she can see the inset on the couch for Megumi's butt to slot into.

July 2018 - Anime Expo (Los Angeles)

This year I went to Anime Expo again to hunt for a ton of autographs.

First up Tomoaki Maeno. He was white blood cell in Cells at Work! His signing happened after the Aniplex premier of the first episode. The show was pretty good and funny and the audience loved those cute palettes. He signed the only thing they let us sign, which was the poster for the show.

Next up I was able to visit the Cardcaptors Sakura small exhibit around the exhibit hall. Buying something from the booth allowed me to get a shikishi (pre)signed by the staff.

Sekai Project brought Sayori (nsfw) to anime expo to do signatures, buying merchandise at their booth allowed me to get a signature. I got best girl signed her in the artbook.

Next I visited the autograph area and found the P.A. works president signing autographs, got him to sign one of my favorite shows (yes it isn't for everyone) Another. The other signature is from Ali Project that I got signed in 2017.

The next person I got signatures from is not Japanese but I love her art. Sakimi Chan (nsfw) comes to most large conventions and it's nice to see her new art prints :D. These two prints I got from her this year, there are more... but I will not post them here :P

Last person I got autographs at Anime Expo was Tsunako and her producer. I love Tsunako's artwork (mainly the neptune series). At the convention I bought 2 expensive acrylic panels that gave me (with buying some other stuff) 12 signatures.

I was an idiot because I didn't bring any of my tapestries. Initially I read online that 1 purchase had 2 signatures so I only brought two items (and a backup). Actually it was every 50$ you get two signatures, and so I had 12. Those panels also allowed me to get signed first which was crucial to finish off the autograph session without excessive line ups.

I brought 3 items with me, 2 Purple heart figures Alter and Vertex and Tsukano's second Neptunia artbook as the back up item.

Finally last two items I got signed: I bought the Blu ray of the (terrible) anime (that I have never seen that each disc was a sign ticket) and the two acrylic stands.

November 2018 - NYC Anime (New York City)

And I thought my convention going was finished for the year and then they announced that Aimer was singing (for Fate stuff) at NYC Anime and I had to go. The Fate event allowed some portion of the audience to get a signed CD for listening to 30 min of Heaven's Feel panel and then a 30 minute mini concert.

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4895/46189047564_6d7db3c638.jpg

This is the 2nd time I got to see her live up close (last time was Anime Expo a couple months before). From Anime Expo and this convention, she did not do signatures, I am guessing she is still very shy.

NYC anime also had Anime Matsuri that hosted a bunch of artists. I went to the concert sung by Luna Haruna, TRUE, Konomi Suzuki, and nano. Most of them did come before to Anime Expo anime matsuri (2016, 2017). Nano grew up in NYC so she had perfect English. She was the artist that I was most unfamiliar with besides Nevereverland. Nano and Konomi Suzuki probably had the best "show" as they were super pumped when singing while True and Luna were more reserved.

One autograph ticket had the opportunity to meet and get all 4 of them to sign something each. I had my Saekano BD for Luna to sign (she sang both openings), TRUE I had signed my friend's CD for Violet Everygarden (sorry no photo), Konomi signed BD of Rezero and I didn't have anything for Nano to sign :(.

And that's it! I went to 4 conventions this year for autographs from different people (of course anime expo being the largest). I hope this was interesting and thank you for reading this article. I hope 2019 would be a great year for more autographs! And I hope you guys have a great 2019 as well!

You can follow me on Instagram if you like to see photos of anime goods and other things.

matthewn44441 anno/i fa#64505067Sakimichan is really easy, she is really nice. If you are able to go to any large convention that she goes to (can see on Twitter), buy a print and ask for her signature, she won't say no. As for tsunako, she's dealing with family issues so she's part time in the industry, mainly went to anime expo but not anymore unfortunately.

Thats unfortunate maybe if i go to japan i can snag her signature......hope she feels better though thats sad to hear

Rikoei1 anno/i fa#64504625You are a lucky bastard aren't you? Jealous of the tsunako and sakimichan signatures my dream is to get at least one signature from an artist i admire but i spend my money on figures and merch so none left to travel will definitely do it though when i stop spending butt loads on useless stuff

Shaerileth1 anno/i fa#49829552I've never been one for signatures but this year I went to my first "big" convention and I got two Japanese signatures that I was excited about. First was a Miyavi meet and greet (that actually happened on my birthday) second is Ai Maeda who was the sweetest ever!

funwari1 anno/i fa#49805659Nice, that is some dedication. Are you going to try and get all three Saenai couches signed? That would make the trio a truly valuable piece of Saekano merch.
I used to attend cons years ago but they never have any good industry people, just localization staff/dub actors. Maybe its Anime NYC that gets all the cool people.
noctisity1 anno/i fa#49805752That's so neat you were able to get that many autographs last year and meet all those special guests!
Was the CCS shikishi only given away for purchases during certain times during the day? Or given for buying specific merchandise? I can't believe I missed that. OTL

It was given out the entire convention. In the booth (forgot which company) you can buy manga or random pins, almost anything would allow you to have it.

That was the plan, this year at account, ai kayano came but the only thing she did was go to the aniplex sao panel and nothing else, she wasn't allowed to do autographs so I didn't get her to sign the couch :(
