Howdy doo, fellow collectors! Your favorite arachnid with poor money management habits is back with another review! This one will strike a chord of nostalgia with many gamers out there. Today I am reviewing another statue by First 4 Figures and a major throwback to the classic PS1 era of gaming. Let's check out their statue of everyone's favorite marsupial, Crash Bandicoot.

As usual, F4F makes the box highly decorated with elaborate graphics related to the game. This theme resembles the first level from the first game, N. Sanity Beach. I'd recommend listening to the theme of this level while reading this review for an extra satisfying sense of nostalgia. Click any image to go to the file page and view the pic in full resolution.

This statue features Crash in the final pose of his his victory dance first seen in Crash Bandicoot 2. He stands atop a piece of ancient ruins. Pipimi with rude gesture sold separately.

A nice touch added to this statue is that it comes with two sets of eye parts, crazy and looking off to the right. The tongue part is also removable. These are held in place with magnets and you can select from a total of 8 combinations of these parts to choose the expression you like best. I prefer the default crazy eyes with tongue out.

On a side note, it looks like an unholy demon spawn without the eye parts. Please note that F4F is not responsible if their products eat your soul and you will not be eligible for exchange or refund in this event.

Crash's fur is painted nicely with vibrant shades of orange. His fur is a mostly flat surface, but it is sculpted with some small grooves to simulate thin fur. His spikey mohawk however has a more detailed sculpt.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/04/02/2185049.jpeg

His jeans are very detailed. The sculpt for the fabric is nicely done as is the shading. I'd say the jeans has some of the best paint work on this statue overall. These pants have the Duluth Trading seal of approval.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/04/02/2185054.jpeg

His big red shoes have a simple paint job and a smooth texture giving it a somewhat leathery look. Judging from the size of his shoes, I see why Kizuna AI was looking at his pants. You know what they say about guys with big feet........They wear very nice jeans. ◕ω◕

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/04/02/2185055.jpeg

Now let's take a look at the base. The sculpt and paint job has given this base a genuine stone appearance. They've also adds some bits of moss on the top and lined along the pattern on the sides. In terms of realism, this base may be their best work yet.

Everything shown is what you get in the standard edition. Now let's see what you get with the exclusive edition only available on the F4F website. The exclusive edition gives you three extra goodies to add to the display. The first being this lovely art background depicting what I believe to be the temple pathway in the N. Sanity Beach level.

Next are two wumpa fruits. These have little magnets in the bottom that fix them onto two spots in between his feet. Be careful when putting them in place as the magnets are fairly strong. It would be easy to accidentally crack them or the base due to the force of collision. The only criticism I have about these is that the leaves seem way too thick and are melded together with the fruits too much.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2019/04/02/2185059.jpeg

They are able to stand up on their own since they have a flat spot on the bottom where the magnets are, but I would not recommend trying that as they could roll over and break. But I am able to do that because I have this displayed in a metal book case where they are magnetized to the shelf.

The last bonus you get are these 2D acrylic stands featuring an extra life crate and mystery crate. Some would perhaps prefer full 3D crates, but there are several articles of Crash merch in the form of assorted crates you can buy if you wish.

Every F4F statue comes with an authentication card, which you can register on your F4F account to secure the same number statue in the next addition to this line of statues. If you ordered early and validated your order on the designated date, you get special Day One edition bonuses. These include a Day One edition card signed by Alex Davis, a Day One edition holographic sticker and extra reward points.

Aside from my comments about the wumpa fruits, I honestly have no issues with this statue. I would say everything is just about perfect. This is an absolute must have for any Crash or PS1 generation fan. If you wanted a gaming statue related to your childhood days of gaming, this is a worthy centerpiece. The price, $374.99, is a wee bit pricey considering the overall quality, but not that bad considering everything it comes with. The price is also on the low end compared to some of their other statues, especially the ones with LED lights, motorized parts and other features. Jump on the waitlist and try to secure one of your own while you still can.

With this added to my collection, I finally have my PS1 / PS2 childhood display filled out! Gaze upon this display and enjoy a sweet overdose of nostalgia! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ ✧゚

Thank you for taking the time to read this review. I hope you enjoyed it and that it has been helpful in your decision to add this piece to your collection. Next I'll be reviewing Stronger and Tokyo Otaku Mode's Kizuna Ai 1/7 figure, which is getting a re-release.

Pre-orders for this figure and the two new Kizuna AI figure by Stronger will be closing soon on TOM, so be sure to pre-order your's soon. On that note, I've gotten an email from TOM stating there will be a x40 points event starting on April 4 with two other coupons on April 15 and April 21. So those would be a good times to order those figures if you haven't already. ✧ω✧

After Ai-chan, I'll finally be getting to the Spyro the Dragon statue shown in the last picture. See you all next time!

CaptainZ1 anno/i fa#56020862I'm a HUGE Crash fan but $375 is...way out of my price range.
Great review though

It is a lot of money to drop on one product. But that is always the case with resin statues. I will admit that a lot of these F4F statues are a tad over-priced for the quality, but they are getting better bit by bit.

ChocolateSpider1 anno/i fa#56012599I'll also be reviewing the Reignited PVC, which should be getting soon because it is almost time for it to be shipped in the US. For anyone not in the loop, they are also making a classic Spyro Ripto's Rage PVC and a Reignited resin statue. I think pre-orders may open sometime in the next few months because they've already posted teaser pics of them painted. There is no such thing as too much purple boi. ✧ω✧

Great! I asked Alex, the owner, about both of the upcoming Spyro statues on their club page. The Reignited resin might be up for order toward the end of Q2, but Ripto’s Rage pvc is going to be later in the year.
