When I bought my Honoka Angelic Angel figure, it was from my local Bookoff. The box was in okay condition, I could tell that the figure inside was not "secured" in a blister and likely just wrapped in bubble wrap. I was getting a good price, but nervous for her condition. When I opened the box, the figure was great! No scuffs, scratches, or chips. A little dusty, but that's no big deal. However, something very important was missing--her golden fan.

Was this why she was priced cheaper than other figures from the same line? Maybe the fan had been with the figure, but since the box wasn't sealed all the way it fell out. Well, I wasn't too upset. I posed her with a flower, but eventually I wanted a real fan. So I shopped chibi chop shop for the biggest nendoroid fan I could find, and I found a fan from Eriri Spencer's kimono nendoroid (www.goodsmile.i...).

It doesn't look bad, but it could look better! So let's do some painting.

I didn't end up using the pearl white paint, it turned out to be dried out and even when I watered a bit of it down, it only added a slight shimmer to the fan that I didn't really like.

First, I painted the handle black.

Not bad! Then I moved on to the yellow paint.

I put four coats of yellow paint on this fan, and the pattern could still be seen. I probably should have started with white....but I didn't have white paint on hand. So i just went ahead and continued with the gold sparkles. Two coats of glitter later...

Wow, that looks....really good! I'm kind of surprised how good it looks, considering it's a nendoroid fan. It's not perfect, but no one besides me is ever going to be really close enough to see it. Now Honoka is complete!

Cloudberry5 mese/i fa#75319703That's one heck of a FANtastic job, I'm actually blown away~♪
Jk, dumb puns asides, I'm legit blown away by how you took a nendo fan and you painted/glittered it to match her. My shaky crack hands wouldn't been able to paint it that cleanly .__.

I do love a good pun! And I have shaky hands too, there were mistakes made, but I was able to hide them with the glitter and black paint, and I got pretty good at controlling my hands after about the 4th coat of paint. Practice makes perfect!
