Today has been one of those days where I have to focus on doing some reorganizing and cleaning or I'll be screaming and yelling about how shitty this living situation is since I haven't been able to get good sleep due to the house being so freaking hot because of my old man who has to have it almost 80 degrees some days and the hotter things get the more angry and irritable I am so working on cleaning things helps to keep me relaxed.

Changed around this corner of the room this weekend to have books up on the shelves again and I may shift it around again because I'm waiting for a few more items to get in next week and that will fill up whatever empty space is left on the shelf.

Been working to have fewer figures on the corner shelf so they can be seen better and I like how it looks currently and with what's coming in may have to move the Astolfo that's behind Musashi to free up a little more space that would be filled in by some hardcover books in that corner.

Most of my scaled figures are displayed here, the other display case has the Shining series figures but this one gets changed around often.

Worked on moving things around to where a bulk of the Anime collection is displayed in this corner of the room and the main display shelf above the TV gets to where it's crowded so not sure what I'll work on moving to declutter the area if that's even possible.

Still have more work to do on the other half of the room and it feels like this room is constantly being changed around when new items are coming in, once the next few Starships and Trek related items get in it will be changed around yet again.

Working on moving things around has helped to keep my rage/anger in check when I get mad about things and this has been a time honored method of keeping me calm and relaxed so changing the room displays around is something that's done often.

Most of the times things get changed around after a culling of a collection or when the shelves are dusted.

How often do you change your displays?

I don't change my figure display very often. Usually I am just too tired after one or two days’ work to do anything other than looking at them. Most of times when I do change my display are when doing dusting and cleaning.

Today I received the figure which may become my last figure of this year. I am planning to unbox remaining sealed items in my collection and add them to my cabinet. I may have to rearrange my display after that.

Before I had proper display shelves, I was constantly moving my collection around. But now i've got a proper display cabinet there is only really one place for my figures to go. But although I'm not changing what shelves my figures are displayed on anymore I'm still constantly tweaking those displays to make them look as nice as possible.

I've actually pretty recently put a fair few figures back in their boxes due to a lack of space because of new figures coming in, however this will only be until I eventually get a hold of the third set of shelves I plan to get for my collection.

Once that arrives, there will be another huge rearrangement. I plan to also eventually buy a detolf for some figures that look best displayed alone, like this one: ITEM #451268

So overall large rearrangments for me probably happen about once every six months, but I'm constantly making little adjustments.

I moved my Besta cabinet a couple days ago, because the sticky tape on the LEDs I bought at the beginning of the month didn't stick to it at all. I haven't found any other LEDs that don't use the same shitty sticky tape, so I had to make it work with my regular ceiling lamps. I'm not really happy with the way it looks now, but I can't put it anywhere else. Hopefully I'll be more satisfied with it, once I got a new billy for my mangas, a second besta (one with 2 doors next to each other) and maybe an extra table for my first 1/4 scale. I'm a big Mortal Kombat fan, so I plan on getting Pop Culture Shocks MK9 Baraka Statue. I want to replace my tv table with the second besta, but I'm not sure if I'm going to place it there. It probably looks better on a higher shelf.

I switch some of the faceplates / accessories every 1 or 2 months, if I like more than 1 of the display options. I only change the position of the figures inside the shelves when I need room for something new.

TyjosAzari1 mese/i fa#78196945I want to get risers for the bookshelves and the display cases, been thinking about that often it would help a lot with getting to where things are more visible but haven't gotten around to it because there was always a lot of stuff coming in and right now after splurging a little today have a few more packages coming in and with Trek being the main thing I collect now it's gotten to where this whole display set up will change because there are times I'm adding in small fleets of ships to the display and usually requires it to be changed around and would love to get some risers for the ships.
I'll have to look into some stands for the Original Series Tricorder and Communicator that are coming in along with find a stand for a Star Trek TNG Type II Phaser...getting to where I am working on doing less with adding things to the collection because there simply isn't a lot of space to properly display everything neatly but at least this display setup you can see a lot but not everything.
I have to change it around often or it becomes dull to me.

Your love of Star Trek definitely shows in your room, it’s awesome! I’m into a million things at once so I have a much harder time focusing my collection haha. And I actually never get around to buying risers either despite wanting to. x_x I splurge on other things so I end up just using glasses and small boxes as risers haha. It’s cheap but it works for me. ^^;

IronRose1 mese/i fa#78196918You mentioned how organizing everything helps control your anger. I'll have to try that. Having to shelter in place for eight weeks, along with having Combo Breaker cancelled made me feel like the universe was just taking a massive dump on all my hopes for this year. It's made the most insignificant things make me steaming mad when normally they wouldn't upset me too much. But your method seems like it would help. I'll have to try that after some rest.
But as for your question, I'm probably going to make some changes to my displays soon. I've been planning to pawn off some of my more impulsive purchases to make room for some ones I want more. I also need to dust again; it takes a little while for the dust to add up, but I've been kind of in a slump for the past few weeks, so I'll put asides some time for it soon.

I have found that it works very well to dust and clean and organize and after a very healthy cleaning out of the collection doing the usual maintenance routines helps on stressful days and after being stuck here for a long time dealing with insufferable parents and an insufferable living situation at time can drive me insane plus I've learned over the years that with the way I am anger is not good at all since I can't handle the emotion well and my body as it is with my high blood pressure it doesn't do me any good at all to get angry so I use the energy that drives that anger to do cleaning and reorganizing.

I have had to have several levels of mental control put in place over the years and there are days I'm more Vulcan than Human but finding that organizing the room, watching a few hours of great Scifi or Anime works wonders to keep me relaxed during these stressful times.

-A few hours of Trek works wonders to keep me relaxed, that's the good stuff to me these days and a few hours of classic 90's-2000's Anime helps big time watching some series like Big O, Mobile Suit Gundam,Outlaw Star and some of the other series from that time works to take my mind off things and helps me to relax more.

I have to dust often because it makes me sneeze here so it's a health issue to me when it piles up here so it takes a while to dust and clean and reorganize but in the end it's all worth it.

Wario541 mese/i fa#78196926Love that Yoda in the first picture I do. And that big BB-8. *o* I want an R2 like that. Anyway, I’ve actually just recently been rearranging a lot and creating new displays! I’ve especially been wanting to set aside space for a Tales of display and I finally got around to it, so happy haha. But I usually like to change things up every now and again; it’s pretty fun and so satisfying when everything comes together. Btw have you tried using risers for your top two Detolf shelves? I think it would look even better. :)

Wow, you have a REALLY awesome room and very cool displays going on here!! It's incredibly massive. I also got really excited at the KOS-MOS and T-elos figures in your Detolf case! I love those two!! That must've taken so long to move and rearrange all those figures.

To answer your blog's question, I change my displays every so often, usually in between photoshoot periods, where I take a break from photoshoots lasting from a few days to a month, depending on what figure I'm not touching. They're always set up in different poses, and occasionally I'll share them online. It's very satisfying and relaxing to pose my action figures differently and setting up every meticulous detail with each figure. I love it!

I agree with the other guy who commented; cleaning really is soothing and relaxing to do. It makes such a world of difference for your day's energy to wake up in a nice clean room vs a messy or unorganized one. Especially with a nice new display on top of it!

MajesticOtaking1 mese/i fa#78196846Cleaning is a great way to help with mood. It always feels so much better to suddenly be in a cleaner space!
I don't rearrange often. I do it when I feel I don't have enough space to display everything, or when I suddenly realize I've been stuffing too many new figures into my cases and there aren't any themes anymore. Also when I come up with a really great display idea!
In about a 2.5 weeks my new set of shelving will be coming in, so I'll need to rearrange once again (even though I did it sort of recently), but everything will fit so much better since I'm adding 3 detolfs. I'll also be adding three skinny Billy's to my bedroom, so my entire Aikatsu collection will be moving onto them. It'll be a much more interesting display.

Cleaning and Reorganizing things has probably helped me from screaming about so many things and probably helped to keep me from violently attacking the asshole I have to deal with here.

Cleaning and Dusting has always been the preferred method of dealing with that impulse and better to do that than punch someone in the face.

With this collection constantly growing it's been a worthwhile thing to do to spend time cleaning and dusting and moving things around.

Not sure if I'll get rid of anything else from the Anime collection but it's nice to me to have it all displayed in that corner area.
