Commenti October Anime Bento!

  • ponnie5 anno/i fa#2430044I'm here to advertise this one show that's not so hyped this season yet is absolutely great to watch - Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis. Those puffs on Cerberus' hands are actually some sort of little doggie demons (she's Cerberus and that's a demon dog by the legend, so it's rather obvious) - and those doggies and Cerberus herself are adorably animated. And it's just a small detail out of many things that made me fall in love with this wonderful fantasy adventure anime. Who would expect plot and characters this good from an adaptation of a mobile card game? Check it out. It's not hyped at all so your inner hipster might be satisfied. Really. It's better than Kill la Kill in a way and it's obviously far better than Shingeki no Kyojin, imo.
I remembered Cerberus's legend after seeing her name a few times. xD At first I got her confused with Anubis. x]

Thank you for the recommendation! I actually thought it was only a video game at the moment, but knowing this now I'll definitely check it out! And yes, the hipster within is very pleased. xD

MJ_CobraThough the boy does look rather plain compared to all the colourful and detailed girls. xD I decided I wanted the brown-haired girl (Cerberus) with the two kitties or white puff-creatures in her hands (are they her hands?).

Beani5 anno/i fa#2429362This is really exploiting people not knowing any better. You'd be lucky if the items are worth $15 let alone $35 + shipping. The Betoyo one was just as bad.
I sincerely hope not too many people are throwing their money away like this. Are you actually going to keep buying either box? :/

The company is still new, so I'm hoping that the quality and quantity of the box improves - both say they are going to, so I'm giving them the benefit of doubt. As of now I will not be buying the boxes, but I will be watching both to see how they change. ^ ^

neL5 anno/i fa#2428832Seems fun, but too expensive for me :<. Maybe they'll improve over time.
    That's what I'm hoping for. ^ ^ I love the idea of grab bags/boxes. ^ ^

kilani5 anno/i fa#2428495Seems pretty expensive, targeted at people not familiar with the hobby.Moro5 anno/i fa#2428515Expensive. I assume, as kilani says, it's marketed toward people who aren't really aware of how much this stuff is really supposed to cost.
Maybe they'll start having more robust boxes but for now I certainly wouldn't pay $35 for that.
Maccha Pocky is the best kind of Pocky though.
bambipie5 anno/i fa#2428535Does seem really expensive for that stuff. Makes sense if it is marketed toward unknowing people tho.
Ah, I think you guys have put it perfectly! The box is *an expensive* dip in the water for new-comers to the collectors' world. For the most part, the products supplied trend on what is popular as well. I think for that reason it's nice, but as we've all been saying, the value and/or quantity of items should go up.

Hopefully its value improves! ^ ^ If not, I guess I won't be seeing Moe-chan again. TvT

One Petite alone in Europe costs 8-10€

Shipping and the other goods, as nice as they are, is what diminishes the box's value.
I do agree about the petits though - that's why I'm so impressed, as Anime Bento had much cheaper figures in the past two boxes. o .o I've actually seen the Miku I got in my box selling somewhere for 36 USD (very overpriced, but still... xD).

AkibaMelon5 anno/i fa#2428626Mmh, intersting post! I'm not sure yet that I really understand the concept of these boxes...Is it about the thrill of not knowing what's inside and the joy of unpacking a surprise package ?_? Personally I wouldn't pay 35 bucks on that, althouogh the Nendoroid Petites are really cute and I congratulate you on that special Miku ^^ She's sweet! (I <3 pastel-colored hair!) I think it will be interesting to follow how these boxes will do in the future...
One a side note: May I ask where you're going for your Europe trip? ^_^

There's an article talking about the worth of sub. boxes, as well as the reason why subscription boxes are such a trend, and it basically comes down to people being lazy and thrill-seeking. The lazy part is because others are doing the shopping, while the thrill-seeking comes from the surprises that could await in each box. Subscription boxes aren't for everyone for this very reason, but if it's a good valued box then it's pretty fun. Kawaii Box and Loot Crate and excellent subscription box services. ^ ^

And the side note: I'm going to spend most of my time in London, England, but I'm also visiting France and Ireland. ^ ^ I'm going in January since it's a bit cheaper, but I'm not too excited about the chillier whether. xD I want to go to a lot (if not all) of European countries, so this is a nice little start. :'D Are you from Europe?

Even so, the rest costs very little. Especially since shipping isnt included.
If you enjoyed it and like everything in it tho, then thats all that matters! :)
