Commenti So, about that more activity... *cough* (Personal update diary)

  • Cloudberry1 anno/i fa#71607006Crap, I just suddenly remembered in the middle of the night I haven't replied back lol >.<
If it's adult content, I suppose you can upload it here and adjust the blog accordingly. Second idea would be tumblr but not sure if you can link image from tumblr to here (like how imgur banned mfc)
I love non-touristy spots. I feel like touristy areas have more people who are meaner than non-touristy areas. Plus, I'd like to see the nature there and I bet most tourist don't do that ^.^
Finland is very pretty anyways and I bet the rest of the Nordic is stunning too. You'll probably have tons of fun there too~
As for Lakka, I'd like to eat the fruit itself lol. It's on my bucket list on things to try. Here's a wiki on it here.
I just realized that it's called Kruipbraam in Netherlands haha...

No problem, I'm late with replying as well. :')

Problem is that I have adult content in loot blogs of items that are not in the database, so they risk getting removed by the MODs on here. :/ And with Tumblr, they change their hotlinking URL's a lot, so then blogs will be 'dead' in a couple of weeks again. :(

If you like nature, there are lots of good parts in the Netherlands as well. :) The northern area where I live now is known for the 'hunebedden' (hunebeds in English according to Google?), which you can see as a tiny stonehenge that is in quite some places. Mostly in the middle of forests. :) And if you like nature + theme parks, we have the Efteling, which is fairytale-themed and in the forests. :)

Yeah! :D The only things I am meh about are the weather and how though the language is going to be to learn. But everything else will be ~perfect~. :)

I never even heard of the name 'Kruipbraam' in my own language! :O But I'll keep an eye out on Lakka when I go to the supermarkets there. :)

Yeah fixing blogs won't happen anytime soon, but I think it's an good idea that when I finally get to being able to upload new content, that I'll fix an old one for every new one I upload. :)
If you ever end up going to the Netherlands, let me know and I'll give you a lot of great things to visit! :D Tourist booklets are always 'Amsterdam this, the Hague that, and Rotterdam blah', but there are sooooo much more great places to visit! :D
Finland was the first and so far only Nordic country I ever visited, so I'm looking forward to exploring the others as well. :) I actually never heard of Lakka fruit, but I'll check if I can buy it in Finland. Googling it mainly brings me to liquor, haha! Is there a specific dish or drink you really like with Lakka?
Thanks for the recommendation! I thought Flickr had some issues with adult content (as a lot of my figures have pictures with cast-off, pantyshots, etc.), but I'll check their rules out again and see if it's possible to use them for image hosting. :)

Maakie1 anno/i fa#71358549I'll probably send out the first e-mail about the party tonight or tomorrow. I got multiple ideas of what to do, but an really important factor is how much people are going to show up. ;)
And ugh tell me about it! The job I just quit was the same...if I was lucky I had like 30mins to quickly check my e-mails/phone for anything important and then it was off to bed for the next day. It was rushing every weekend to do the household next to trying to have a bit of social life and hobbies. TT^TT But it's nice to read it's better for you now and I hope for me personally it will become better at my new place! At least I will live in a lot more central location and Finland is known for being a lot more chill with starting times, breaks etc. at work, so I assume/expect things will be better. :)
And yes! I am not that much of a nature-fan myself actually, but when you go to work on the most ugly industrial terrain you can imagine, if you then come home after a long day and hear the birds chirp and pass many high trees on your way home, it's really rejuvenating! <3
And that's correct as well, we are quite quickly 'gone' from this house, which was not planned at all. We own this house for a bit over 4 years, which is actually way too short if you think about the money we spend on renovations and such...but luckily the housing market is good right now, so it's not too much loss. Still, I would have loved to live here longer, but my new location will be so much better that I probably won't miss it that much after a while. ;)
I hope that I can still use MFC for most of my linking and then if I make the 'unrelated to MFC database' pictures as small as possible, maybe Wordpress will work for a while until storage runs out. :P We'll see later, but for now there are indeed other priorities in life. ;)

Filled it in. The 'maybes' depend heavily on the location. :)

Ughh yeah, I agree. I also have to rush on days off with household chores, social life, and other activities. :T So yeah, I hope it'll be an improvement for both of us! And the situation in Finland sounds promising. :D

I can imagine, nature is definitely great for unwinding, especially if you're in a really ugly urban location the whole day. I live in a village myself, and though there's mostly pastures and such here, I can't imagine living in a city like Amsterdam. It'd be way too hectic and busy for me. xD

I can imagine that, especially with the renovations, it does hurt somewhat. But yeah, I suppose it goes to show that life can't be planned and you never know what will happen next. But yes, the housing market is great, so it's a very good moment to sell a house.

chronicvillainy1 anno/i fa#71312060Let me know once you've made a decision! I can imagine it takes some good planning and making decisions.
Thank you! :D Yeah, the travel time is definitely a big plus! About 20 minutes by car, if traffic's good. I agree that free time is definitley worth a lot. Right now, I'm home late, and by the time I finish cooking/eating/doing the dishes, it's almost time to go to bed. :')
And oh my gosh. Lots of nature nearby seems a good thing to me, though? Then again, I'm a homebody. :P I can imagine missing your house, though. Buying one is a big step, and you did expect to continue living there for a long time, I expect.
Yeah, I imagine you'll hit the free storage bit quite fast. But you're right, packing up your house is definitley a bigger priority! I hope everything will go smoothly. :D

Maakie1 anno/i fa#71272591My notifications on here are a mess, so I just check my e-mail and go from there, old to new LOL. Not sure how long ago you send it, but I have a delay of ~2 months right now with replying on everything. ^^'' But I will come across it and accept it or send you one myself soon. :)
Yeah it's quite a bit of planning and it's also hard to decide how big/small the group would be. Next to that, probably the best date for it, is also my dad's birthday. ^^'' So I'll have to make some choices...
I quickly read your e-mail and just wanted to say: Congrats on the new job! :D Wish you the best of luck with it and man, am I jealous of so little travel time. ;) It's definitely worth it even if you would earn a bit less, to work closer to home. Free time = also worth money! :)
Just yesterday I read that my municipality is *again* voted the 'least interesting to live', LOL. But at least the happiness level is pretty high, lots of nature. :) I'll especially miss my house...it's location was bad, but it's the best place I've lived in so far.
Yeah I have been testing around with Wordpress a bit, but I think I'm going to hit the limit of free storage space pretty fast with my style of blogs. :P Or I'll have to make all my pictures very tiny. Not sure yet what to do. For now, packing up my house goes first. ;)

darkfader1 anno/i fa#71276042Good luck with the move and all. Seems like a nice country too.
I don't think any image hoster will allow hotlinking without a catch. Even MFC changes its links now and then.
But as long things are fixed faster than things are breaking, it should be ok.

Thank you for the good luck wishes! I'm really convinced about Finland being a great country to live. :) My husband has been very happy there so far.

Yeah every free hotlinking-website has some sort of catch. The best would be my own server somewhere, but that is going to be really expensive with the amount of pictures I use in my blogs... Eh, I'm not sure yet, but right now I'm leaning to using Wordpress.

chronicvillainy1 anno/i fa#71232896Hi! :D (I think I sent you a friend request, buuut it might have gotten lost in the pile of notifcations somewhere. At least I no longer see the 'send friend request' button). But no rush, also for the email. :) I can definitely understand that you're *very* busy right now.
(Awwww that would be awesome, thank you! Feel free to let me know once you have more info, and I'll see if I can make it. :D)
I can imagine. I already feel weird about next year's changes that will happen to me, but that's peanuts compared to your start of 2020! But if it feels right, I think it's a good decision. And yeah, your area is known for being a bit more difficult in terms of jobs (not that my area is a walk in the park -- I'm close to the Randstad, but not close *enough*).
As for the images, yeah, I can imagine. I also don't really know any good image hosting websites any more. Most seem to have disappeared or have become paid. I saw someone mention Wordpress and I run a blog on there which works fine, but I think the available space for free users is limited?

Maakie1 anno/i fa#71225202Hey, you have an account again! :D Thank you for the good luck wishes! I also saw an e-mail of you pop up, but it might take a while before I can sit down and properly answer it. View spoilerHide spoilerI'm planning on hosting a 'going away' party in the Netherlands for all the wonderful people I met in the anime scene and you're invited as well of course! I hope to send you some news about that soon!
I'm really excited about it all, but it also all feels very weird. I think it's the right decision though, especially because our location in the Netherlands was also not very great for jobs. And about the images...yeah...the time I would spend on fixing 2-3 blogs, could have been spend on writing a whole new blog...and my trust in image hosting is incredibly low...so who knows, maybe something I'll fix will be broken again in half a year. *sigh* It's indeed very discouraging, but at the same time I don't want stuff to remain broken!

chronicvillainy1 anno/i fa#71152508That's amazing! The best of luck with your move to Finland. I bet there's a lot to handle with moving to another country, but it sounds like you're really excited! :D I hope everything will go well and that you'll settle well in Finland. :D
I'm not much help with the images, unfortunately, but jeez, I can imagine it's very discouraging that you have to fix all of your old blogs. :(

Cloudberry1 anno/i fa#71152907I voted that everytime you upload a blog, you fixed an old one but in reality, do it whenever you have time; sounds like you have lots of on your plate for RL stuff and you should prioritize what's important.
By then you come back, this website will be here waiting for ya. I do wish you the best in your move. I'd always wanted to visit Netherlands and the Nordic Countries and that's been on my bucket list (mainly, because I want to try Lakka fruit lol).
As for an image hosting site, I'd highly recommend Flickr. There was a similar controversy on another form I visit and many of the users had the same issue as you. Most of us migrated to Flickr and never looked back. The one advantage about Flickr is that (1) it doesn't compress the original image so if you take a killer landscape photo it'll still preserve the image quality that is shareable and (2) it's a very solid website that is rarely down.

Yeah fixing blogs won't happen anytime soon, but I think it's an good idea that when I finally get to being able to upload new content, that I'll fix an old one for every new one I upload. :)
