This is a pet peeve of mine, but ultimately just part of the MFC experience. The site is based around a database that every user is free to interact with and use how they see fit within a fairly objective set of rules ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's easy to see why if you work in UI/UX industry. But I too lazy to explain, and it also links to human psychology and behavior, which is complicated.

WHAT IF those people are Myethos (etc.) fans using css to change the layout of some random figure's page to a Myethos one and mark it as owned? Just came to mind lol.

I also had that meythos order but sadly the website I proxied her from cancelled it for some reason(still haven’t gotten a refund for the deposit)
Ah well sort of glad I didn’t cause I don’t want to pay $500 right off the bat for now(I ordered two plus extras)
Anyways no but I do want to order jeanne d’ arc’s alter figure soon (contracting what I said but if I find her for a good pre owned price I want to pick her up ASAP)

Also, my mom's gotta be punished as well! She has anime figures in her room, but she dares to not be on MFC!

Looking at the figure you linked, 17 people are claiming they own and 1315 ordered it. Assuming those 17 are incorrect, doing the math, it's 1.2% error. Ask yourself, is a 1% deviation really affecting statistics? Should I get this upset over something so meaningless?

Tossing the matter of collector-ethics aside, I'd be more concerned about those guys jinxing it for themselves and everyone else as listing unreleased figures as owned is most certainly bad Mojo.

Figure release delayed? Delivery truck went up in flames, destroying all packages? It's obvious who is to blame - the guy who just had to assume that payment guaranteed ownership, thus allowing Karma to strike.

They already paid for the PO, so therefore they own it technically.

When I noticed that people did this, it made me scratch my head and wonder why people were "lying". But when I read other's reasoning, I stopped my ill judgment. Even I became unconventional with my ordered list and was adding only preorders for a while. The lists should be meant to service you as the collector, not the other way around (and yeah, I know there's a rule asking you not add unreleased figures to owned, but what damage does that even cause except inaccurate data? Who does it harm?)

Besides, no matter how hard you try, statistics are never 100% accurate anyway, so don't let it bother you.

though i prefer to put my ordered figures in the order list, some people may like to put their pre-orders in the owned section for them to not change them in the future, i personally think it's no biggy :)
